Shuttle-carrier system could be used for warehouses require more storage locations, this system may utilize the space to the maximum by eliminating the aisle for forklift or stacker cranes. In case of higher efficiency is needed, more shuttles and carriers as well as lifts could be put into use to increase the I/O efficiency
Shuttle-carrier also provides flexible choice for solution providers/integrators, it could adapt to both FIFO and LIFO operation requirement. All in all shuttle-carrier is widely used in warehouse automation for fully utilizing the space and height( working with lift), as well as flexible I/O configuration.
